The Director of Business Development will drive Keysight’s strategy for expanding the research and education market, focusing on regions with growth opportunities. This position will have end-to-end accountability for delivering order and revenue growth, gross margin improvement as well as strategic planning.
This role requires strong leadership to identify research and education market trends and opportunities and develop comprehensive business plans to capture the growing demand for our products in research, learning labs and research centers. In addition, the successful candidate will have proven success in business development, application engineering, team development, and driving growth in a competitive market.

California pay range: MIN $172,330.00, MIDPOINT $229,770.00 - MAX $287,220.00
Colorado pay range: MIN $ $159,570.00 MIDPOINT $212,750.00 MAX $265,940.00
Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region

Responsibilities
- Define and drive strategic direction and roadmaps in the research and education market that delivers on key performance goals for the company.
- Manage executive-level relationships with customer accounts that focuses on educators’ priorities and challenges.
- Collaborate with broad range of internal stakeholders including executives, R&D, business leaders, sales and marketing.
- Passionate about building strategic partnerships with key accounts to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
- Energized about leading and managing a globally dispersed team of business development, application engineering, solution management, broad channel business, business operations and market intelligence professionals with a focus on developing next generation talent.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or university degree or equivalent plus 10+ years of relevant experience as a second level manager.
- Demonstrated strong management and leadership skills in implementing program or enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Track record of overachieving revenue and customer success results.
- In-depth knowledge of the academia industry, and key technology drivers that meet customer goals and grant resources.
- Strong business acumen and experience with complex organizations during periods of rapid growth and change.
- Resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high level of energy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with high-level academic and research professionals.
