Location: Milwaukee, WI

Benefits: Excellent Health Insurance Plan, PTO, Leadership Development & Career Growth

Lead, Build & Grow with the Nation’s #1 Franchise Brand & a Proven Multi-Unit Operator

Jersey Mike’s (JM) is the #1 franchise brand in the country in terms of quality and growth, making it an elite player in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, which focuses on speed, service, and fresh, high-quality ingredients.

This General Manager position is with Jersey Mike’s Holdings (JMH), a family-owned, multi-brand, multi-unit franchise group that has been in restaurant operations for 28 years.

  • JMH was one of Wisconsin's first Jersey Mike’s franchisees in 2012 and has since expanded significantly, demonstrating its depth, foresight, and long-term commitment to the brand.
  • JMH owns and operates multiple restaurant brands across dozens of locations, spanning the greater Milwaukee area to greater Chicago.
  • As a multi-unit franchisee, JMH offers the support and resources of a well-established corporate team while maintaining the personal investment and culture of a family-run business.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to lead a high-growth brand while working within a well-resourced, family-owned company that values leadership, development, and long-term success, this is the role for you.

What Makes This a Standout Opportunity?

  • Be Part of a Proven National Brand – JM is the top-ranked franchise in the U.S., meaning you’ll lead a store within an elite brand known for quality, service, and expansion.
  • Multi-Unit, Family-Owned Stability – JMH is a long-established franchise operator that knows how to grow and sustain high-performing stores across multiple brands.
  • Build & Shape Your Own Team – You won’t just inherit a store; you’ll hire, train, and develop a high-performance team within JMH’s A+ Leadership framework.
  • Collaborative Leadership Environment – While you’ll own your store’s success, you’ll also be an integral part of JMH’s leadership team, working alongside other GMs and our corporate leadership team to ensure company-wide excellence.
  • Career Growth Beyond This Role – We promote based on performance, not tenure. The best leaders move into multi-unit and cross-brand leadership.
  • Balanced Leadership, Not Burnout – 5-day, 40-50 hour workweek, including one weekend day. Lead effectively while maintaining flexibility for family & life.
  • Competitive Pay + Performance-Based Rewards – Strong base salary plus an aggressive bonus structure tied directly to profitability and leadership success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop & Lead a High-Performance Team – Hire, train, and mentor a team that reflects your leadership style while upholding JMH’s A+ standards.
  • Manage Store Financials – Full ownership of your store’s revenues, cost of goods sold (COGS), labor, and controllable operating expenses.
  • Shape the Store’s Culture – Create a positive, high-energy work environment that motivates employees and ensures exceptional customer experiences.
  • Leverage Support to Win – Work with JMH’s corporate HR, marketing, finance, and operations teams to optimize efficiency, performance, and growth.
  • Collaborate as a Leader – Balance autonomous store leadership by being a team player within JMH, sharing best practices with other GMs, and working with corporate leadership.
  • Grow Beyond This Role – Top-performing GMs will advance into multi-unit leadership roles across JMH’s brands.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced Leader – Ideally, you have 5+ years of leadership experience in restaurants, retail, hospitality, or other fast-paced industries. However, if you are an outstanding individual with a strong leadership mindset, we are open to candidates with less experience.
  • Assistant GMs Ready to Step Up – We encourage you to apply if you’ve been a high-performing Assistant General Manager (AGM) or held a similar leadership role in QSR or another fast-paced business.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience – A degree in business, management, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience and/or certifications.
  • Financial Acumen – Experience managing revenues, COGS, labor, and other controllable expenses within a P&L framework.
  • Balanced Leadership Approach – You are a smart, courteous leader who understands the balance between solo decision-making and collaborative leadership with your fellow GMs and JMH’s corporate team.
  • Professional & Motivational Presence – You present yourself with confidence, polish, and enthusiasm, setting the tone for your team and store.

What To Expect

  • Schedule: Once you have set up your store you should expect 40-50 hours weekly, 5 days, including one weekend day.
  • Compensation: Base salary plus aggressive performance-based bonuses.
  • Advancement: Fast-track to multi-unit leadership based on performance.
  • Support System:
  • As a JMH GM, you’ll have access to a full suite of corporate resources, including HR, finance, legal, marketing, and operations support.
  • This well-structured support system empowers you to focus on running your store efficiently while having the backing of an experienced and well-run organization.

Our A+ Leadership Culture at JMH

Over nearly thirty years in the restaurant business, JMH has developed an "Operation A+" system—our structured approach to leadership, operational excellence, and high-performance team development.

Operation A+ focuses on:

  • Customer Excellence – Creating a store environment where customers receive top-tier service and product quality.

  • Data-driven decision-making – Using metrics, audits, and financial data to guide store improvements and profitability.
  • Growth-Focused Leadership – Developing team members into future leaders, ensuring long-term success for our stores and brand.
