Who You’ll Work With
As a footwear designer in WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will be working hand-in-hand with a large project team of different professionals (engineers, researchers, scientists, marketing, testing, sustainability, materials, costing, etc.) and collaborating within the design community (product designers, materials, color, graphics, computational, etc.). You will work under the direction of our Senior Design Director, as well as other functional leaders, to ensure alignment across all sectors.

As a Footwear Designer in Nike WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will help bring industry-leading innovative footwear designs from concept to reality. We value strong, style forward insights and passion for our consumers in providing them with style forward iconic designs to serve their performance needs.
In WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will design innovative footwear to meet consumers’ performance as well as style needs. You will collaborate with many project teammates in areas like development, engineering, marketing, testing, color design, material design/development, and graphic design to bring the shoe from concept to market. With each project, you are encouraged to also participate and present the work in formal and informal reviews.

- Bachelor's degree in industrial design, a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
- Previous experience designing and developing innovative footwear
- Positive personality and energy
- Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives
- Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
- Motivated and hardworking while bringing others along
- Ability to drive a vision and lead/influence others
- Open minded, good listener, receptive to candid feedback and diverse points of view
- Ability to action against feedback to explore and deliver a wide range of options

- Lead + drive partnerships beyond the Design function (Marketing, Engineering, Development, etc.)
- Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
- Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
- Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus
- 3D design programs experience is a plus
- Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus
- Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
In WOMEN’S TRAINING, you will design innovative footwear to meet consumers’ performance as well as style needs. You will collaborate with many project teammates in areas like development, engineering, marketing, testing, color design, material design/development, and graphic design to bring the shoe from concept to market. With each project, you are encouraged to also participate and present the work in formal and informal reviews.
