The Float BCBA provides high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals with autism across multiple locations. In collaboration with the Clinic Director, the Float BCBA supports effective clinical operations, including conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, supervising clinical staff, coaching caregivers, and ensuring high-quality, ethical service delivery. The Float BCBA also plays an important role in supporting teammates remotely, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring client progress toward meaningful goals. 

This role follows a hybrid service delivery model, with a portion of clinical responsibilities completed via telehealth. At a minimum, float BCBAs are expected to be physically present in the clinic they are supporting for at least four days per month. However, the actual number of in-clinic days will vary based on your float assignment and may include a fully in-person schedule at assigned clinics, client homes, or community locations, depending on proximity and float assignment needs. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Independently conducts assessments of clients using appropriate protocols and procedures, probing skills listed on adaptive, developmental and functional behavior assessments via direct observation and data collection. Scores and Interprets assessments, discussing findings with stakeholders. 
  1. Independently conducts treatment plans including analysis of assessment data, program design, and development, writing plan goals, and determining needed supports and submit by due date.   
  1. Provide clinical recommendations regarding treatment intensity, modality, and transition/ exit planning, in collaboration with parents and other stake holders, with the emphasis on delivering developmentally appropriate and socially significant client outcomes 
  1. Evaluate and modify treatment based on the Caravel Quality of Effective Treatment (QET) measure, completing these measurements as assigned. 
  1. Ensures that indicators of assent and withdrawal of assent are noticed, honored, and measured. Implement programming to promote assent and communication skills to express assent and assent withdrawal. 
  1. Uses clinical observation and highest-level technology (PathTap) consistently to ensure effective and efficient data-based decision making, all shown through daily reporting to Clinic Director and CCOE as appropriate. 
  1. Collaborates with Caregivers to implement programming and provides support to achieve prioritized goals during Family Treatment Guidance sessions.  
  1. Supervise assigned clinical teams, including BCaBAs, Senior Therapists, BTs and RBTs in the implementation of programs, and behavioral intervention procedures, recording data and session notes.; observing BTs and RBTs, implementing Behavioral Skills Training (BST), and providing ongoing clinical supervision. 
  1. Attends company meetings as assigned. 
  1. Participate in workgroups upon request, collaborating based on clinical experience and expertise, providing information readouts to Regional Director, supporting project pilots, and providing measurable data to understand success measures and assessment criteria.  
  1. Follows and abides by the BACB Ethics Code, Caravel ethical guidelines and policies, regulations, and adheres to mandated reporting regulations. 
  1. Assist in providing BCBA Fieldwork Supervision as assigned by Regional Director in alignment with the requirements of the BACB and additional criteria established by the CCOE as appropriate. 
  1. With guidance and direction from the CCOE as well as other cross-functional partners, partners to develop and facilitate clinical training for clinical roles, focusing on clinically relevant and necessary topics, ensuring all attendees demonstrate appropriate knowledge transfer. Participate in assigned training to build and maintain a high level of clinical expertise, supporting Company Initiatives.  
  1. Mentor BCBAs in alignment with established CCOE and Caravel guidelines to ensure consistency for all mentees. 
  1. In partnership with the CCOE and Regional Director, support implementation of clinical initiatives using clinical expertise and experience, ensuring compliance with clinical expectations, including recognition and accountability for set expectations 
  1. Upon request of Regional Director or CCOE, provide consultation on clinical cases and questions to support other teammates in successful client care and clinical outcomes. 
  1. Engage in professional collaboration to promote the Caravel mission. 
  1. May assist in networking and marketing the organization externally to influence clinic growth and success.  Coordinates, promotes, and attends community events within the surrounding communities.  

 Travel RequiredMust travel to assigned clinics, client homes, or community locations at least four days per month. Additional travel may be required depending on caseload or organizational needs. Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required.  

The in-person service expectations for the Float BCBA are determined based on the distance from the BCBA’s primary residence to the assigned service area. If the Float BCBA lives less than 30 miles from the location they are supporting, they are expected to provide in-person services a minimum of three days per week for the duration of the assignment. For Float BCBAs providing services at clinics more than 30 miles from their primary residence, they are expected to provide in-person services a minimum of four days per month, with a recommendation of eight in-person days per month. These visits can be scheduled flexibly, such as one day per week, two days every other week, or one full week per month, depending on clinical needs and scheduling agreements. 


Qualifications: 

Education:   

  • Master’s degree required 

Experience: 

  • Must be Board Certified Behavior Analyst and or a state-licensed behavior analyst where applicable, and meeting state specific requirements. 
  • A minimum of three years working as a BCBA required. 
  • At least five years of experience utilizing applied behavior analysis and providing behavior services to clients with autism is strongly preferred.
