Position Title: Financial Planning Manager

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Involved with recruiting, hiring, and approving training agendas for new team members.
  • Manage the Financial Planning Supervisors, facilitate performance evaluations, and hold team members accountable.
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching and development to team members and supervisors.
  • Assist team members in career development while setting them up for success.
  • Develop and maintain the planning standards to be used by the Centralized Planning Team.
  • Coordinate with Chief Information Officer (CIO) on any investment updates needed for planning software(s).
  • Work with acquired firms to develop strategies to integrate planning software(s).
  • Identify trends, provide input on strategic goals, and assist to define service team objectives, measures, and reports on results.
  • Maintain high service excellence standards by monitoring service quality and consistency across the team.
  • Research and resolve client, advisor, associate, and senior management issues.
  • Deliver capacity, forecasting, and strategic resource planning input to leadership team.
  • Interact with the planning software(s) contacts, research and resolve issues, and be an authorized approver/signer.
  • Collaborate with financial services leadership team and cross departmental leaders on process improvements, initiatives, and other key company goals.
  • Consistently demonstrate Allworth Financial values as we deliver on the Vision, Mission, and Promise– leads by example.
  • Review financial plans with clients on an annual or as needed basis.
  • Shadow and present with Financial Advisor during client appointments.
  • Create, update, and implement financial plans for clients.
  • Communicate changes with Investments Team to make modifications to allocation and strategy.
  • Manage a small group of interns during the summer months- this entails matching them up with an Associate Advisor mentor, creating the 10 week schedule, meeting with the Associate Advisor biweekly to check progress, and meeting with the interns biweekly to check progress.
  • During tax season and as needed, help with tax preparation and provide tax support for clients.

This position has up to 16 direct reports:

  • Associate Advisor (11)
  • Summer Financial Advisor Intern (ranges between 3 to 5)

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance or Accounting or foreign degree equivalent.
  • 5 years of post-bachelor progressive and related work experience.
  • Experience must include:
  • 5 years of tax preparation experience to include preparing corporate and individual tax returns and planning;
  • 2 years of experience in the financial services wealth management industry;
  • 2 years of experience in EACH of the following: financial planning, mentoring, and servicing advisors and their clients;
  • 2 years of combined experience to include each of the following: eMoney, MoneyGuide, and Hidden Levers;
  • 2 years of experience mentoring employees, including direct and indirect staff; and
  • 1 year of combined supervisory experience leading teams to serve to include each of the following: clients, advisor partners, and co-workers.
  • Experience may be gained concurrently.
  • Work from home available. Must reside within commuting distance from employer's Campbell, CA office.
  • Requires up to 10% domestic travel 2-4 days per month to other company office locations.

SALARY: $286,728/year
