Position Overview

Karman Space & Defense, a publicly traded industry leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple strategic locations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in financial reporting, auditing, compliance, internal controls, and proficiency in advanced business system tools. This key financial leadership role will directly support our operational excellence and strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to public company auditing standards and procedures.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to site leadership, identifying opportunities for cost savings, profitability improvements, and operational efficiencies.
• Oversee and ensure accuracy in inventory management, cost accounting, and financial controls.
• Ensure accurate and compliant percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting practices for long-term contracts and projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes, leveraging advanced Microsoft business system tools (EPICOR, Power BI, Power Automate, etc.).
• Collaborate effectively with operational teams, corporate finance, and executive management.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Strong experience with advanced Microsoft business system solutions (Power BI, Power Automate, or similar).
• Proven expertise in public company financial reporting, auditing practices, and compliance standards (SOX, GAAP).
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience managing multi-location finance teams.
• Prior experience within aerospace, defense, or high-precision industrial manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to implement financial best practices, internal controls, and process improvements
