Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.
As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.
The Google Cloud Central FP&A team strives to be an exceptional Finance function delivering the most pertinent insights and strategic financial recommendations to leadership, influencing Corporate Finance towards Google Cloud’s unique needs, and streamlining processes and communications across Google Cloud to deliver financial analyses of the highest standards, while fostering an environment for team members to achieve their highest career potential and develop deep skills in their roles.
The Core Central team drives informed decisions, guides execution of Google Cloud's strategy, and creates value for our business partners by generating operational insights and framing business decisions with data, as well as defining aligned governance structures and leading efficient planning and reporting processes for Google Cloud Finance.
The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
- Experience with SQL.
- Experience in FP&A, including building financial models, revenue and OpEx controllership, P&L consolidation, business partnering and management reporting.
- Experience working on cross-functional project teams to solve big problems, and experience efficiently communicating key takeaways to leadership.
- Experience implementing new processes in support of FP&A planning and reporting, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience identifying operating dependencies and optimization opportunities in a highly cross-functional organization.
- Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Responsibilities
- Support the monthly financial forecast process for Cloud FP&A. Support automation and scale efforts across analytical and reporting to deliver exceptional solutions.
- Support planning, reporting, and influencing corporate operations related to Cloud OpEx allocations. Maintain long-range, annual, and monthly financial projections and reporting for incoming functional allocations.
- Own and manage the enterprise structure for Global Cloud within SAP. Develop robust and efficient workflows to govern change requests, approval frameworks, and system updates.
- Partner with the FOO and corporate DnA teams to define and develop scalable reporting solutions, including dashboards and ML tools, that will improve financial and operational visibility and reporting for Cloud FP&A.
- Support the quarterly earnings process, including creating key C-level reports and managing stakeholder satisfaction. Prepare monthly financial review (MFR) and business review (MBR) materials, ensuring corporate and executive calibration.
