The Finance Manager oversees the day-to-day activity of the hotel's general ledger operations and supports the Director of Finance. This person will follow USALI and Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. This position is an on-property role.

The Finance Manager oversees the day-to-day activity of the hotel's general ledger operations and supports the Director of Finance. This person will follow USALI and Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. This position is an on-property role.
Core Functions
- Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.
- Prepare and review journal entries, month-end reports and reconciliations.
- Handles daily accounting functions and review daily revenue reports.
- Work with remote collection and billing teams to ensure adjustments and payments are properly posted.
- Manage Accounts Payable with shared services – processing invoices, provide accurate expense coding, reconciling of vendors statements.
- Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel.
- Respond to inquiries from guests, clients, and vendors
- Complete G/L account reconciliations, assist with inventories, monthly closings.
- Assist DOF with completing the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
- Help prepare monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review, and analyze the variance explanations, involving the appropriate department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement.
- Assist DOF with special reporting and analysis projects.
- Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel, and communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Hospitality or Accounting degree preferred.
- 2 years or more of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel.
- Prior MICROS, ADP/Enterprise, Oracle and Hyatt systems (Opera and PMS) expertise desired.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Must possess the following strengths: entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service.
- Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must have excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
- Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking throughout property, working on a computer, typing, filing, climbing stairs, and interacting with guests (speaking, listening, writing).
- Occasional: Lifting, pushing, property equipment. Occasional stooping and bending.
