NCI services a diverse group of markets including federal, state, and local governments, as well as a variety of corporate and special industry organizations that require complex life safety and critical infrastructure needs.
A Field Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. Their primary responsibility is to support project teams by coordinating technical details, assisting with project planning, and ensuring work is completed according to design specifications and safety regulations.

A Field Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. Their primary responsibility is to support project teams by coordinating technical details, assisting with project planning, and ensuring work is completed according to design specifications and safety regulations.
Essential Functions
- Be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Written communication skills include sending emails, filling out daily reports, keeping meeting minutes
- Able to perform document control
- Understanding of and adherence to construction safety requirements and documenting daily safety observations in the field
- Assist and execute coordinated site logistics
- Direct involvement with the project team in subcontractor coordination on site and weekly look ahead schedule updating
- Active involvement in the project quality control process including verifying materials
- Perform other Duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field or 3 – 4 years of construction experience
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs
- Willingness to be on-site and travel as required
- Ability to independently ascend and descend stairs.
- Ability to independently reach, twist, and bend.
- Ability to independently remain stationary for extended periods of time; and
- Ability to independently lift up to 30 pounds when required by work assignment.
