As an Early Learning Family Navigator, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support and advocacy services to a diverse range of families. This position requires a compassionate approach to understanding and addressing individual family needs, while collaborating with a dedicated multi-disciplinary team to develop and execute tailored family plans that promote engagement and access to vital resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments for clients and develop a Family Partnership Agreement (FPA) within the first 90 days of enrollment, with regular revisions every six months.
- Maintain meticulous client records in compliance with established standards, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with supervisors to devise and implement recruitment strategies, assessing eligibility in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Provide continuous encouragement to families, assisting them in achieving their FPA goals.
- Facilitate access to essential resources, referrals, and emergency support, including health and mental health services.
- Advocate for low-income families, empowering them with self-advocacy skills and knowledge.
- Research and connect with community organizations to identify supportive resources for families.
- Assist families in transitioning to educational programs, fostering parental involvement throughout the process.
- Participate actively in family literacy initiatives and the development of education programs.
- Attend and contribute to Policy Council meetings and Parent Committees.
- Input data using agency-specific technology and engage in ongoing training to stay current with best practices.
- Mentor new employees and interns, aiding their integration and skill development.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Exceptional communication and motivational abilities, with a comprehensive understanding of family dynamics and development.
- Knowledge of family support principles, conflict resolution methods, and the ability to foster relationships with community organizations.
- Thorough familiarity with community resources, enabling effective connections for families.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications.
- A strong commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree and three years of experience working with low-income families.
- A certification or credential in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field is required, with completion expected within 18 months of hire.
- A valid driver's license may be required based on the role.
- Successful completion of a physical examination, including a Mantoux TB skin test (or a documented alternative if previously positive).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or completion within 30 days of hire).
- Background check clearance and successful completion of criminal history forms as required.
- A food handler's permit (or completion within 30 days of hire).
- Completion of HIV/AIDS and bloodborne pathogen training (within 30 days of hire).

Compensation And Benefits
- Competitive hourly salary range: \(24.40 - \)34.16, commensurate with experience.
- Starting salary for external candidates: \(24.40 - \)26.84 based on experience.
- Paid time off includes 10 vacation days, 3 Employee Appreciation Days, 1 sick day per month, and 15 paid holidays annually.
