Scheduled Hours: Monday thru Friday 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. overtime may be required
Supervisory Responsibilities: none
Position Summary: Responsible for fabricating products as instructed by engineering drawings while complying with safety regulations.
Responsibilities/Duties:

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions to fabricate products to be delivered to customers from start to finish (shipment).
- Complete layout, fabrication, and welding as instructed. Verify welds for completeness, penetration, and aesthetics.
- Safely use and maintain welding equipment, plasma torches, oxy-fuel torches, and other fabrication tools.
- Safely move and handle material with forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment.
- Assist with machine operation, material handling, and other manufacturing tasks, as needed.
- Utilize iPad and necessary software to complete daily job safety documentation, daily equipment inspections, and product reports.
- Read and interpret OSHA standards, ASME standards, CMAA standards, and other equipment manuals required to perform daily tasks.
- Provide inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, report defects and functional tests on Hoosier Crane equipment trailers, tools, facilities, grounds & vehicles.
- Install and maintain Hoosier Crane equipment and the plant facility equipment including but not limited to: welders, plasma torch, and sub arc.
- Follow HCS established safety policies/procedures, including additional ones established by the customers, and all local, state, and federal safety regulations including OSHA, MIOSHA, ASME, etc. and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Complete all required paperwork, computer work, and records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report to work as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities and Skills:
- Preferred skills include: welding/fabricating, painting, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of misc. equipment & hoists systems.
- Safely and skillfully use a variety of fabrication equipment, hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills set.
- Able to work in a team environment, be detail oriented, and have high self-motivation.
- Must be able to read print.
Background/Experience:
- AWS D1.1/D14.1 Certified FCAW 2G Minimum
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
- Experience with welding/fabricating, painting, electrical and motor controls, and overheard cranes.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
