The Export Control Manager ensures compliance with the US export control and sanctions regulations within area of responsibility. As a subject matter expert, the Export Control Manager advises global Export Control and Customs (ECC) team and business units in implementation of export control measures in their processes and procedures and provides consultancy on strategic projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor government updates on export control and sanctions regulations, understand the impact to the company, communicate globally in layman’s terms and ensure compliance.
• Provide subject matter expertise to interpret US export control and sanctions regulations and advise globally on compliance requirements.
• Support update and maintenance of global Internal Control Program (ICP).
• Support the ECC group and business units in strategically assessing their processes and procedures to implement export control measures.
• Submit, track, and communicate (both internally and with regulatory authority) export license application, classification request, advisory opinion request, interpretive guidance request etc.
• Support denied party screening and business partner due diligence.
• Interface with related functional areas such as Research and Development, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Procurement.
• Diligently and professionally manage other tasks, projects and responsibilities as assigned by the manager or ECC management team.
  
  

Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge to succeed in this role:

• 10+ years of experience in export control and export operations.
• Strong understanding of US Export Administrations Regulations and OFAC administered Sanctions Programs.
• Ability to distill complex export compliance concepts and issues into simpler key elements and communicate these effectively.
• Ability to understand technical parameters in Commerce Control List (CCL) and support Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) of items.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, think critically, work independently, and prioritize workload.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to lead/participate in cross-functional, cross-cultural, and cross-border projects.
• Proficient in various MS applications to facilitate analysis, presentations, process improvements and quality.
• Hands-on Experience with ERPs (SAP).
• Experience with export control customization within SAP GTS is a plus.
• Experience with MedTech industry is a plus.
  
  

Working hours: Preferably Pacific Time Zone regular business hours. Remote working possible. Must be able to travel to physical locations for meeting and conference.

The Base Pay Range For This Position Is

Min $117,770 - Max $176,650

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
