Position Overview
The EH&S Manager will be responsible for managing a team of EH&S professionals and leading the design, implementation, management and evaluation of comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) programs across all ARKA facilities. This role ensures that all locations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

Local located onsite at our facility in Danbury, CT. Located in beautiful Fairfield County, Danbury offers a diverse economy, wonderful parks, cultural attractions, an impressive mix of private and public educational institutions and a vibrant arts scene. Position Overview
The EH&S Manager will be responsible for managing a team of EH&S professionals and leading the design, implementation, management and evaluation of comprehensive environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) programs across all ARKA facilities. This role ensures that all locations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage environmental compliance programs while identifying and developing solutions to include financial impacts to business stakeholders to ensure operations runs consistently
- Provide strategic vision and leadership as the Environmental Specialist ensuring compliance and sustainability
- Partner with local management and leadership to certify all applicable permits, policies, procedures and regulations are compliant while staying up to date on relevant regulations
- Establish and maintain effective cross-functional relationships at all levels throughout the organization
- Responds to and investigates environmental incidents such as spills, releases, non-compliances and complaints
- Conduct risk assessments and implement strategies to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct EHS Internal Audits and prepares reports for area arrangement
- Drive continuous improvement in the safety culture while working towards exceeding site-specific safety goals
- Maintain and analyze safety records and data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Develop and deliver EH&S training to employees as required
- Manage a staff of EH&S professionals to include providing coaching, direction, and feedback to ensure effective performance outcomes
- Travel between facilities may be required, up to 25%
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field, with 5 in a management capacity
- Knowledge of current environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Experience in designing and delivering safety training programs and sessions
- Strong prioritization and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining a high degree of flexibility
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to lead and resolve daily issues
- Ability to communicate and present clear, concise objectives to all levels of the organization while identifying and sharing risks and opportunities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Well versed in Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel skills required
- Certifications such as OSHA 30 and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) are preferred· Professional certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH, NEBOSH) highly desirable
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
