The Environmental Compliance Intern will assist WSU’s Water Conservation and Stormwater
Coordinator with a variety of duties to help WSU maintain compliance with state and federal drinking water and stormwater regulations. The intern also assist with the implementation of the campus water conservation and stormwater plans. Finally, the person in this position will assist WSU’s Green Department Program manager with campus green department audits and program tasks.

The Environmental Compliance Intern will assist WSU’s Water Conservation and Stormwater
Coordinator with a variety of duties to help WSU maintain compliance with state and federal drinking water and stormwater regulations. The intern also assist with the implementation of the campus water conservation and stormwater plans. Finally, the person in this position will assist WSU’s Green Department Program manager with campus green department audits and program tasks.
Specific Duties Include The Following
- Conduct campus stormwater inspections
- Collect water meter readings
- Assist with updating and implementing WSU’s stormwater management plan
- Assist with implementing Utah Division of Drinking Water requirements
- Assist with implementing WSU’s water conservation plan
- Conduct irrigation water audits
- Conduct Green Department program audits and assist with program implementation
- Serve as a Vice President for the Environmental Ambassadors and assist with events such as the Zero Waste Athletics games.
- Assist with other projects and research as needed.
- Must be a current WSU student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and the Adobe Suite
- Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to: technical writing, computer skills, public speaking, and oral presentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and organized
- A creative and collaborative problem solver
