Works in a variety of settings and roles, optimizing the overall efficiency of departments within Operations and the Supply Chain organizations. In production operations (packaging, processing, warehouse, and site engineering), work is related to the design, development, implementation, and refinement of manufacturing processes for the Lewisville manufacturing facility. Ensures compliance with Environmental Health & Safety for operations processes. Learns and utilizes lean principles when optimizing processes, procedures, and workflows or implementing change. Partners with Quality to drive proficiency and compliance in all areas of Operations impacting product quality. Ensures the company's operations work properly and meet factory and management specifications. Role is directly responsible for problem identification, root cause analysis, efficiency or productivity improvement, and resolution. Routinely examines processes for continuous improvement opportunities. Develops and presents new or improved methods while solving manufacturing challenges in a timely manner. Works as part of a team and interacts with engineers, quality control specialists and others to increase efficiency and establish best practices. Can successfully work independently with the ability to plan and develop own methods.
Responsibilities
Experience: 3+ years
Field of Experience: Engineering project management in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical or food industry
Education: Bachelor/University Degree
Education Focus: Mechanical, chemical, electrical, process, packaging or industrial engineering.

Responsibilities
- Identifies operational challenges and opportunities for efficiency improvements by observing and studying system function; investigating complaints and suggestions; and interviewing process supervisors and operators. Identifies improvement priorities by assessing operational objectives; determining project objectives, such as, efficiency, cost savings, energy conservation, operator convenience, safety, environmental quality; estimating relevance, time, and costs. Develops operational improvement plans by defining, studying, estimating, and screening alternative solutions; calculating economics; determining impact on total system. Defines, analyzes, reviews, and evaluates problems for prompt resolution.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance existing processes/procedures and/or upgrade current equipment performance so that speed to market, start-up curves, total delivered cost, capital utilization, clean/safe design, product quality are continuously improved. Drives process optimization of process output and product throughput, equipment utilization, equipment downtime, waste reduction improvements, and standard cost in a creative manner.
- Anticipates operational problems within Operations by studying operating targets, modes of operation, system/process limitations, monitoring system/process performance. Improves operational quality results by studying, evaluating, and recommending process re-design; implementing changes; contributing information and opinion to production processes and workflows. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), and Federal, State, and local government regulations
- Establishes and leads weekly/monthly performance improvement audits and formal initiative report-outs with all key stakeholders as needed to drive departmental alignment and accountability to established metrics. Leads or participates in projects involving other departments and activities. Prepares project charters, project schedules, and projected time/cost savings for all approved initiatives.
- Assists with the creation and implementation of technical performance improvement plans for major equipment and systems within Operations including process improvement workflows. Provides technical support to production areas in evaluating process deficiencies, process changes, modifications, and equipment failures.
- Facilitates departmental training as needed to support performance improvement initiatives implemented within Operations.
- This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Experience: 3+ years

- Must be willing and able to attend annual trainings and/or certification programs as needed to support the role.
