Position Summary
The Engineer II role offers an exciting opportunity to apply foundational engineering expertise to innovative design and development projects. Working under the guidance of a Project Engineer or Design Engineering Manager, you’ll contribute to a variety of engineering initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and beyond. Your work will directly support manufacturing, integration, and testing activities, making a meaningful impact on project success and technical excellence in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Tackle moderately complex engineering tasks and diverse design projects that challenge your technical skills and creativity.
- Apply sound technical judgment with room for independent evaluation, originality, and innovative thinking.
- Prepare and review critical Engineering Change documents to ensure project alignment and accuracy.
- Develop and assess detailed engineering calculation packages and drawings, contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Ocean or Nuclear) or Naval Architecture from accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years practical experience in Engineering, work experience with the US Department of Defense projects is desirable.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office products required.
- Strong technical writing skills are preferred.
- Proficiency using CAD software such as SolidWorks is preferred.
- Proficiency using Finite Element Analysis software such as ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation is preferred.
- Experience performing Dynamic Design Analysis of shock rated equipment and structures is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge and effective use of the principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization and understanding of related engineering fields.
- Understands collection, analysis, interpretation, and application of typical engineering project performance metrics.
- Knowledge of military, and commercial, construction and material specifications applicable to Submarine or Deep Submergence System work.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SUBAFE or SOC requirements is preferred.
- Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.
- Must have and/or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the U.S. DoD.
- Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
