The Engineer – Controller Hardware Product Manager will be responsible to identify opportunities for the new robot controller hardware products, define the new products to fit the market opportunities, manage the introduction of the new products and provide product / application support for products once they have been introduced.
This position will report to the Director of Engineering in the Segment Product Management group.

The Engineer – Controller Hardware Product Manager will be responsible to identify opportunities for the new robot controller hardware products, define the new products to fit the market opportunities, manage the introduction of the new products and provide product / application support for products once they have been introduced.
This position will report to the Director of Engineering in the Segment Product Management group.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Perform market analysis or other related analysis intended to identify opportunities for new robot controller hardware products or required modifications to existing hardware products.
- Develop specifications for new controller hardware products.
- Maintain assigned controller models- hardware portions of FAC Online Corporate Price List (CPQ), a critical communications channel within FAC and to our integrator partners.
- Identify controller hardware product concerns and limitations and manage the resolution of all critical issues.
- Develop and execute test plans.
- Develop technical marketing tools and pricing recommendations.
- Perform competitive product analysis and reporting.
- Maintain assigned controller models- hardware portions of FAC Online Corporate Price List (CPQ), a critical communications channel within FAC and to our integrator partners
- Identify and support beta/lead users and other activities required as a part of a successful product introduction
- Evaluate the feasibility of using new or existing robot controller hardware products or options, provide customer demonstrations, and support proposal development and related activities required to successfully apply our controller products
- Ensure that the General Industry and Automotive Applications Lab is maintained with a professional appearance and enhanced as necessary.
- Identify controller hardware product concerns and limitations and manage the resolution of all critical issues
- Execute small development efforts or support our internal development groups in the execution of larger development efforts in conjunction with our marketing organization.
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites or tradeshows including overnights per business necessity.
- Bachelor's in electrical engineering, mechatronics or related engineering field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with demonstrated success in Robot/Controller Hardware Products and Application Engineering or related engineering position.
- Excellent understanding of industrial robots and safety standards (e.g. ISO, RIA, etc)
- Demonstrate technical expertise, working independently with minimal supervision, supporting other team members.
- Demonstrated capability in applying robot controller hardware options such as auxiliary axis, multi-arm, robot positioners, general and safety I/O etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, presenting, and effective wrist and oral communication.
- Proven high level of competency in Windows, MS Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other web-based applications.
- Ability to identify problems, define plans to address problems, and successfully manage execution of the plans.
- Ability to travel to customer sites or tradeshows occasionally including overnight as required by customer deadlines and requests.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related engineering field.
- More than 3 years' experience with Robot/Controller Hardware Products and Application Engineering.
- Demonstrated an ability to identify and define controller hardware problems or needs that could be solved with improved hardware designs or with enhanced functionality of existing hardware options preferred.
- Experience with 2D and 3D design software. (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Working experience in electrical engineering. (circuit drawings, controller hardware assembly and test prototypes)
