Emergency Veterinary Assistant

Location: 3710 E Racine St, Janesville, WI 53546

VCA Veterinary Emergency Service is growing its Patient Care Team and seeking a part-time Veterinary Assistant!

In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality emergency care to animals in need. Our Emergency team ensures that the most critical cases receive immediate attention and that all patients receive the care they need.

Schedule: Part-time, swing/2nd shift (either 2p -11p or 5p -2a) with required weekends.

Compensation: $ 15 - 20/hr and is determined by skill set, and years of experience in the field. We do off a $3/hr differential for all hours worked between 7p - 6a.

Key Responsibilities: The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in Emergency Procedures: Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency surgeries, trauma care, and critical treatments.
• Patient Care: Provide compassionate and attentive care to emergency patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing comfort.
• Client Communication: Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with updates and information about their pet's condition and care instructions.
• Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure that all emergency equipment is properly maintained and that supplies are well-stocked and ready for use.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with our emergency veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of care and a seamless operation during emergencies.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine is required.
