NYU School of Medicine, a world-renowned institution committed to advancing medical education, patient care, and research, is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate leader to serve as the inaugural Emergency Medicine (EM) Residency Program Director at NYC Health + Hospitals / Woodhull, an esteemed affiliate of NYU School of Medicine. NYU School of Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director. This leadership position is ideal for a candidate with significant experience in Emergency Medicine, a passion for medical education, and the ability to create a positive and innovative learning environment. The Program Director will play a focal role in shaping the next generation of Emergency Medicine physicians and ensuring the highest standards of education and patient care.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Oversee the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) application process for a 2027 program start.
  • Develop and implement the program curriculum.
  • Establish policies for the program and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Provide clinical teaching and supervision to residents.
  • Deliver direct patient care and engage in core program clinical teaching.
  • Lead general administration tasks related to the residency program.
  • Participate in Graduate Medical Education (GME) committees and meetings.
  • Organize educational conferences for residents.
  • Assist with GME recruiting and interviewing.
  • Oversee GME research and scholarly activities.
  • Conduct resident evaluations and mentoring.
  • Lead program evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.

We offer a competitive compensation package and a stimulating work environment, which includes the following: as outlined below:

  • Annual Base Salary: is $300,000-$330,000
  • 403B/457 participation inclusive of a 10% employer contribution with no employee match required
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement ranging from $3000-$3500 inclusive of one week of paid CME time
  • Projected annual revenue sharing payments of up to $30,000 contingent upon meeting required productivity and compliance metrics
