Summary

The Emba Stacker is responsible for all activities associated with stacking finished goods onto a pallet as per the palletizing instructions on the job ticket. Assists the operators with the setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE

  • Sets-up bundler, hold down arm, load former, and delivery end of machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
  • Secures proper cover sheets, tie sheets, and load tags for production runs.
  • Stacks finished boxes in accordance with factory job ticket.
  • Sets up kicker and back stop at feeder section.
  • Gathers dunnage and pallets required for the job.
  • Prints load tags though PDE application.
  • Ensures each unit has proper top and bottom cover sheets, tie sheets, load tags and sample on each unit.
  • Monitors quality of boxes and reports quality problems to Operator.
  • Ensures correct bundle and unit counts.
  • Reports final count of piece unit to Operator.
  • Assists Operator and Assistant as needed.
  • Switches roles with Assistant as needed throughout run.
  • Completes necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
  • Adheres to production schedule.
  • Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
  • Regularly cleans machine.
  • Participates on Preventative Maintenance
  • Reports all maintenance work orders to Supervisor for needed repairs.
  • Ensures the compliance of safety guidelines.
  • Wears the proper safety equipment for the environment including safety glasses and steel toe shoes
  • Performs other related duties as needed

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Must have ability to see and differential color
  • Efficient use of computer
  • Strong organizational & communication skills: Writing, Speaking
  • Ability to recommend and implement customer solutions to drive top and bottom-line improvement.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast pace work environment.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.

Language Skills

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Capable to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

Technical Skills

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

  • Read tape measure with speed and accuracy
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
  • Apply concepts of high school math
  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications.
  • Read factory job ticket unitizing instructions as well as special instructions
  • Quality standards

Physical And Environmental Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time go up/down step ladders, stairs and elevating platforms. The employee frequently is required to use their hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to perform repetitive motions and must have strong finger dexterity.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds utilizing the buddy system. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close, distance, peripheral and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee works around powered industrial trucks, heavy objects, conveyor systems, and machines including highly energized systems such as pneumatic and electrical systems. The employee works with chemicals, high heat items, and sharp objects. The employee uses pneumatic systems including air and water hoses. The employee must be able to adapt to a changing work environment.
