Primary Responsibilities

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient repair, maintenance, and installation of industrial electrical systems and controls.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Compliance with company safety standards and policies.
  • Installation of new and used electrical equipment.
  • Repair and maintenance of industrial electrical systems.
  • Repair and maintenance of industrial electrical controls.
  • Ordering of electrical components.
  • Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
  • Completion of all safety and job related paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: E-2 certification
  • Desired: E-1 certification
  • Thorough understanding and compliance with company safety policies.
  • Thorough understanding and compliance with the National Electrical Code.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Must be familiar with industrial electrical systems and components.
  • Must be able to read electrical blueprints.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Mechanical competence with trouble shooting capability.
  • Must be able to work in high areas with manlifts and ladders.
  • Capacity to work well with management and fellow employees.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capability to complete safety and job related paperwork in a timely fashion.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA, MSHA, NFPA 70, and state agencies. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, face shield, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, respirator, air monitor, reflective safety vest, and NFPA 70 protective equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near electrical components and controls, moving mechanical parts, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cnowy and icy conditions, heat, and cold. The employee frequently works outside and has exposure to some vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
