How You’ll Make An Impact

The EH&S Intern will be asked to perform a variety of entry level technical duties as needed to assist in the preparation and review of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security programs to ensure regulatory compliance and continuously improve performance. The candidate will utilize their field of study environmental, health, and safety egree paths to bring critical-thinking skills into the role and to gain hands-on experience in the assigned internship.

Responsibilities Include

• Optimization of the current processes as assigned by the plant manager, quality control supervisor, or plant engineer.Work on enhancing operational equipment efficiency (OEE)
• Perform Engagement Walks, spill kit inspections, eye wash inspections, and plant inspections that focus on plant safety and environmental safety.
• Create or modify standard operating procedures (SOP's).
• Perform line and process audits utilizing machine guarding assessment tools.
• Engage in time motion studies, PPE assessments, and hazard/risk reduction activities.
  
  

What You’ll Need

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety discipline
• Actively enrolled in courses
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing
• Microsoft Suite proficiency
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods of time
