Volunteer Community School is looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our Toddlers classroom (2 and 3 year-olds). In this role, you’ll help nurture young children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth — creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can thrive.

Volunteer Community School is part of the Chambliss Center for Children network, and is located on the Northshore at 506 Spears Avenue.

Position Details

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Pay: From $11.00 per hour with a high school diploma and limited experience; from $13.00 per hour with a CDA; from $15 with an Associates Degree; and increasing with education and experience.
  • Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave; free telehealth; Health Reimbursement Account contributions; short-term disability insurance; 403(b) retirement account.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working with children in a classroom setting strongly preferred.
  • Able to pass a fingerprint background check.

Responsibilities

  • Stay engaged and supervise children in your care, ensuring safety and promoting active participation in all activities.
  • Plan and lead activities that support children’s development in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas.
  • Maintain an organized and supportive classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, parents, and volunteers.
  • Be attentive to the health and well-being of children, responding to their needs as appropriate.
  • Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Team Lead, Executive Director, or Associate Director.
