Experience: 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Greene Resources is seeking a Distribution & Carrier Manager to join a growing and dynamic team! Oversee the daily operations of carrier and freight management to ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient transportation of goods. Manage third-party logistics (3PL) partners, negotiating carrier contracts, optimizing distribution strategies, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations.

Job Description:

• Manage daily transportation operations, ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of products to customers, distribution centers, or retail locations.
• Oversee carrier operations in support of e-commerce fulfillment, with emphasis on parcel and last-mile delivery networks.
• Select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
• Monitor carrier performance and take corrective actions when KPIs (on-time delivery, cost per mile, damage rate, etc.) are not met.
• Analyze shipping trends and freight costs; implement strategies to optimize distribution routes and reduce transportation expenses.
• Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales) to align distribution activities with overall supply chain strategy.
• Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
• Manage transportation-related documentation, ensuring accurate and timely billing and invoicing.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and analytics tools to track shipments, resolve issues, and generate reports.
• Support sustainability initiatives related to fuel efficiency and emissions reduction where applicable.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), freight optimization tools, and delivery checkout platforms.
• Certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., CTL, APICS, CLTD) preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of freight modes (LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
