The disability coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely completion of patient disability and FMLA forms. This role includes working with various office staff in multiple departments, insurance representatives and employers of HR representatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the accurate and timely completion and submission of disability and/or FMLA forms, while maintaining contact, thorough documentation and providing updates to the patient, insurance company and/or employer.

This posting is for all current Ocean Orthopedic Team Members that are either per diem, part time, or full time status and are located in the Toms River or Morganville office.

Responsibilties

A day in the life of a disability coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

• Log, prepare and send disability and FMLA forms
• Diligently maintain full and accurate documentation within patients' accounts
• Collect and log payments for forms and maintain complete documentation of such
• Field telephone calls from insurance companies, employers, adjusters and patients
• Follow up on specific accounts as assigned
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior
  
  

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Computer skills including MS office
• Medical office operations, medical terminology
• 2 years medical office experience
• Clinical and/or administrative background
• Proficient navigating electronic medical records
• Detail oriented; ability to follow all assignments through to completion
• Time management skills and ability to multitask
