Director of Youth Activities

 

Summary: 

The Director of Youth Activities plans and executes programming for the Club’s young members as well as for the entire family. She/he should leverage the amenities and services on the Club’s campus to provide programs that promote fun, skill development, learning and competition, with a focus towards family and community. This person will serve as a “connector” among the various Club departments. They will develop and implement a robust communications platform using traditional media as well as new forms of technology to promote and engage families to participate in what the Club has to offer. The Director of Youth Activities will conceptualize and lead a well-rounded social and enrichment calendar of innovative family social events and programming.

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Uphold the department’s and Club’s mission and culture by serving as a role model for the youth membership and team members
  • Formulate a “brand identity” for the AAC Family & Youth Activities Program
  • Successful design and implementation of youth program in 5 key categories: Drop-In Childcare, Enrichment Programs, Social Events, Private Parties, Seasonal Camps
  • Develop a communications plan to effectively inform members of all youth and family focused activities throughout the year including Club Times and Youth Guide Content, Youth Party Guide, Print Collateral, and Social Media/Email Marketing
  • Establish and meet annual participation and financial goals. Present annual budget proposal for approval; monitor actual versus budgeted expenses and takes corrective action as appropriate
  • Develop or enhance, implement and supervise age-appropriate programming
  • Coordinate and implement security procedures for onsite childcare including maintaining accurate record keeping with pertinent registration information
  • Responsible for overseeing all member billing, invoicing, and financial tracking/goal setting and prepares monthly activity reports
  • Supervise all operational activities for the Timbers facility and maintain a safe, clean space
  • Recruit, select, and retain team-members by creating an environment for team members that is aligned with the company culture
  • Seek out opportunities to engage membership and guests and follow up on their experience. “Be the Liaison”
  • Provide team members with the tools and environment they need to deliver the AAC experience
  • Develop and implement strategies and practices that support team member retention.
  • Plan professional development and training activities for your department.
  • Completes required accident/incident reports related to child injuries and behavior.
  • Responsible for daily inventory and ordering of programs supplies.
  • Coordinate and direct the set-up of each function by verifying desired expectations in advance with participating personnel and departments.
  • Schedule team members in accordance with the staffing requirements of each function; communicate details of function to team members.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Exhibit an outgoing, professional personality.
  • Ability to prepare and work within budgetary guidelines.
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office 365.
  • Creative design and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to relate to, communicate with, and motivate team members to sustain high performance and quality levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret multiple documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, financial documents, professional journals and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write complex reports and correspondence.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem solving skills.
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships with members, team members and vendors.

 

Education:


  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years prior supervisory experience in youth activities or education.
  • Experience managing a large youth program in a similar environment is preferred.
  • CPR Certification (Adult, Child and Infant) Infant AED/First Aid and Safety.
