Buhler Inc. seeks a full-time Director of Manufacturing based in Cary, NC. The Director of Manufacturing manages Buhler fabrication of large-scale industrial drying application to delivery on qualify, cost, and deadlines through a team of functional managers and workers. This position ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction, while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines. Specific duties include: 1) Manage employees and operation of manufacturing. 2) Align manufacturing capabilities with company growth, ensuring industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and delivery can be met. 3) Collaborate with management team to develop goals and future plans for product manufacturing. 4) Create and manage department budgets, with a focus on product cost and margins. 5) Direct all core manufacturing functions: quality, production planning, production control, production engineering, production fulfilment, production support, and shipping/traffic activities. 6) Ensure quality standards are met and maintained. 7) Implement operational excellence projects and drive efficiency value add initiatives. 8) Work closely with Regional Head and Business Unit Head to meet group objectives and align strategies. 9) Improve manufacturing footprint, increase flexibility, introduce new products, and develop partner transfer products. 10) Recruit, train, develop, supervise, and evaluate the manufacturing department staff. 11) Ensure the quality, delivery, and cost efficiency for products and services in the manufacturing process of machines. 12) Focus on digital solutions, innovation, and sustainability in operations to create competitive advantage. Tools and technologies utilized by the Director of Manufacturing include the following: SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) Management tools and reports, Windchill data bank, Lean management tools and methods, ERP System SAP, Microsoft Office, and MCV (Material Cost Variance) Analysis. Position supervises up to 12 subordinates. Position requires international and domestic travel up to 5% of the time.

These are the skills you'll need

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the industrial machining industry. Experience must include 24 months of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) with each of the following: 1) Improve manufacturing footprint, increase flexibility, introduce new products, and develop partner transfer products. 2) Implement operational excellence projects and drive efficiency value add initiatives. 3) Ensure the quality, delivery, and cost efficiency for products and services in the manufacturing process of machines. 4) Focus on digital solutions, innovation, and sustainability in operations to create competitive advantage. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Position requires international and domestic travel up to 5% of the time. Salary: $120, 000 to $140, 000/year.
