About the role
The Director of Enterprise and Workplace Technology – Field Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for defining strategy, driving execution, and fostering innovation across field engineering functions related to enterprise infrastructure and workplace technology.
This leader oversees a national team responsible for the deployment of structured cabling, wired and wireless networking, and workplace solutions in complex enterprise environments. The Director is accountable for delivery excellence, quality assurance, team development, and operational performance. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Sales, Solutions, PMO, and external partners—to ensure technical alignment with business objectives.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with business leaders to deliver services that support company objectives and that are consistent with Winning Together values.
- Define and execute the enterprise and workplace infrastructure delivery strategy.
- Ensure scalability, adaptability, and alignment with client needs and industry trends.
- Build and lead a national team of field engineers, technicians, and implementation specialists.
- Develop and manage training, onboarding, and career development programs.
- Ensure operational efficiency, safety compliance, and effective resource utilization.
- Oversee the successful delivery of workplace and enterprise infrastructure solutions, including:
- Structured cabling (copper and fiber)
- High-density wireless networks (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba)
- Workplace endpoint solutions (desktops, laptops, peripherals)
- Distributed network buildouts (IDF/MDF design, campus and remote connectivity)
- Manage the full infrastructure lifecycle—from planning and installation through testing, documentation, and post-deployment validation.
- Design and implement QA processes to ensure consistency, reliability, and standards compliance.
- Conduct project audits, root cause analyses, and retrospectives to support continuous improvement.
- Define and track performance metrics and reporting to ensure delivery success.
- Collaborate with Sales and Solutions teams to scope and validate infrastructure and workplace projects.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert in client meetings, site assessments, and proposal development.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including SOWs, cost estimates, implementation plans, and post-installation reports.
- Manage relationships with OEMs and third-party service providers to ensure alignment with delivery expectations and service quality.
- Evaluate and onboard new technologies that support and enhance field execution.

What you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or workplace technology delivery.
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience in field engineering or large-scale infrastructure deployment.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Proven expertise in structured cabling, enterprise networking, and workplace technology.
- Demonstrated success in leading QA and governance programs across distributed teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications such as RCDD, PMP, CWNA, or Cisco/Meraki wireless credentials preferred.
- Experience delivering infrastructure across enterprise campuses or distributed workplace environments.
