RLG is currently recruiting for a Director, Enterprise Application Development to provide leadership and oversight in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of RLG’s enterprise applications, ensuring that application designs align with CIO and business strategy. It offers strategic and operational direction for a multi-disciplinary team, identifying and evaluating technology, automation, and business process enhancements and their potential impact on the business.
The scope of this role includes
RLG is currently recruiting for a Director, Enterprise Application Development to provide leadership and oversight in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of RLG’s enterprise applications, ensuring that application designs align with CIO and business strategy. It offers strategic and operational direction for a multi-disciplinary team, identifying and evaluating technology, automation, and business process enhancements and their potential impact on the business.
The scope of this role includes
- Strategic Planning and Management Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for enterprise applications to ensure alignment with the company's goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior management to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Implementation and Integration Lead the implementation of enterprise applications, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Coordinate with the PMO office for project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and application customization.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting Monitor the performance and usage of enterprise applications to ensure they meet business needs. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), generate regular reports, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Risk Management Identify and mitigate risks associated with enterprise applications, including security vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and system failures. Implement robust security measures and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Manage and optimize ERP systems to ensure they meet the needs of the business. This includes overseeing the implementation, integration, and maintenance of ERP solutions across all plants.
- Develop and implement strategies for integrating various enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability between systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation within business processes and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Oversee the architecture and management of enterprise systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
- Accountable for the oversight of all EFI Radius Suite, LabelTraxx application, NetSuite, CERM, Pace, PrintStream, JobBoss, Imaginara, and their auxiliary programs.
- Lead a strong and experienced talent pool of IT professionals, including application developers, systems analysts, and support staff, to ensure the deployment of ERP best practices throughout all manufacturing plants. Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate team members to maintain a high-performing team.
- Select and manage relationships with software vendors to ensure performance expectations and contractual obligations are met. Negotiate contracts and handle escalations.
- Develop and manage the budget for enterprise applications, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI. Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage expenses related to software licensing, maintenance, and support. Evaluate resources and relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and business partners.
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
- Establish a governance structure that identifies key performance indicators, sets milestones, and establishes a reporting cadence for ERP projects and support.
- Provide ongoing support and training to end-users to ensure effective utilization of enterprise applications. Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and address user concerns and feedback.
- Provide leadership and direction with regards to technology, vendors, business partners, policy, and standards.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues and make recommendations for improvements to existing processes.
- Ensure that development deliverables meet the acceptance criteria predefined for projects.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
- Typically has 8-10 years of IT and business/industry work experience.
- A minimum of 5+ years in an enterprise application development leadership role.
- A minimum of 5+ years of ERP experience; printing/packing industry experience a plus.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Customer-oriented and able to explain issues or requirements in non-technical terms when necessary and patient to deal with users in general.
- Experience with NetSuite, EFI Radius Suite or LabelTraxx preferable but not required.
- Experience in a job cost, custom made manufacturing/printing environment preferable but not required.
- Experience with M&A integration is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead business process current/future state business modeling analysis.
- Demonstrated program and project management skills including project initiation, scoping, resourcing, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication.
- Extensive experience in leading, managing, and developing the enterprise applications portfolio, ensuring interoperability and responsiveness to business needs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Proven track record of setting targets, executing a plan, and delivering results.
- Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Strong influencing/negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills combined with demonstrated team management capabilities.
- Able to adapt and facilitate change acceleration.
