About The Role

The boots-on-the-ground leader driving high-performance project delivery.

As Director, Construction you will lead Sealed’s project scoping and construction management operations in Indiana, where we plan to launch as a Regional General Contractor to support delivery of the Indiana Energy Saver Program. You’ll build and manage the contractor network, oversee field operations, and lead a growing team of Project and Construction Managers to deliver high-quality energy efficiency projects at scale.

You’ll serve as both a builder and operator—comfortably navigating job sites, coaching teams, resolving field challenges, and owning the financial and operational outcomes of every project.

What You Will Do

Execution & Leadership

  • Own the full construction lifecycle across single-family and multifamily properties, from project scoping through final inspection.
  • Build and manage a high-performance team of Project Managers and Construction Managers.
  • Serve as the final decision-maker for all boots-on-the-ground activities and outcomes.
  • Manage the relationship with local and statewide programs, particularly the implementer of the Indiana Energy Saver Program

Operational & Financial Performance

  • Own the Indiana P&L. Deliver projects on time, on budget, and above margin targets.
  • Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, manage cost drivers, and improve process discipline across sites.

Subcontractor Network Management

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a diverse subcontractor base to deliver HVAC, weatherization, and electrical scopes.
  • Ensure timely scheduling, fair allocation of work, and project completion within 14-day timelines.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure full compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and federal program requirements.
  • Oversee documentation, permitting, punch walks, inspections, and QA audits to ensure workmanship excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with teams across Sealed—operations, finance, account management, and rebate processing—to deliver a seamless contractor and customer experience.

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have 8+ years in construction leadership roles (e.g. Director of Construction, General Manager, Director of Operations, etc), ideally in residential retrofit or HVAC.
  • Have field experience and a deep understanding of quality standards, job site flow, and contractor dynamics.
  • Are comfortable managing many concurrent projects with varying scopes and stakeholders.
  • Have strong financial acumen and know how to tie operational decisions to margin performance.
  • Can build, coach, and hold a team accountable with clarity and confidence.
  • Navigate permitting, inspections, and code requirements with ease.
  • Have experience with rebate or government-funded programs (a strong plus).
  • Are based in Indiana or able to travel throughout the state regularly (up to 50% travel).

What Success Looks Like

  • Projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and exceed gross margin targets.
  • The contractor network is stable, scalable, and consistently delivers high-quality work.
  • Field teams are aligned, proactive, and accountable to clear performance expectations.
  • Compliance and documentation standards are upheld across every project.
  • Sealed builds a reputation in Indiana as the go-to partner for quality, efficiency, and impact.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive salary & equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Flexible, remote-first culture
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401(k)
  • Pre-tax FSA for health/dependent care
  • Salary Range: $120k-$150k + bonus opportunity
