Why is the Injection Molding Tool Design Manager important to us?

Quickparts is looking for an Injection Molding Tool Design Manager to lead our design department and drive excellence in tool design for injection molding processes. 

The Injection Molding Tool Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation of detailed tool designs, developing specifications, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This role is crucial in enhancing our manufacturing capabilities and delivering high-precision molded products to our clients. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for innovation to contribute significantly to the success of our team and the Clinton site.

In This Role, You Will

• Lead and manage the design department, guiding a team of designers and engineers.
• Create detailed designs for injection molding tools, including 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
• Develop specifications and requirements for tooling materials, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Oversee the production of prototypes and conduct thorough testing to validate tool performance.
• Collaborate closely with product development teams, manufacturing engineers, and suppliers to meet project specifications and timelines.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues related to tool design, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain comprehensive records of design changes, tool modifications, and testing results.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices to enhance tool performance and efficiency.
• Ensure all tools meet industry standards and company quality requirements.
  
  

You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have

• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in injection molding tool design and development, with at least 3-5 years of experience leading a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD; strong knowledge of injection molding processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex design and manufacturing issues.
• High level of accuracy and precision in tool design and documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining and additive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of material science and properties of various polymers used in injection molding.
• Certification in mold design or related fields.
