Designer Intern Role Summary

As the Designer Intern you will be part of the team from Day 1 and will be integrated into projects across our many practices - Sports (both Professional and Collegiate), Corporate, Healthcare, Cultural/Museum and Entertainment. This position is part of the Creative Studio team which is where the process begins to build the design intent and provide creative direction for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Hand sketch, digitally render and illustrate solutions throughout a variety of Design Phases: Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development and Construction Documentation
• Incorporate Project Leadership’s (ECD, CD and/or assigned lead for the project) direction and feedback into proposed design solutions
• Be actively involved in developing concepts and producing documents to convey ideas to clients
• Support the success of Creative Studio team members
  
  

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Experience with Creative Suite required.
• Experience with SketchUp, Rhino and other rendering software preferred.
• An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to bring a fun, creative and energetic level of professionalism to the team
• Exude a “go where needed” attitude and outlook on role
• Comfortable with failing while remaining positive
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form
• Ability to evaluate urgency of situation and prioritize tasks
• Organized with attention to detail
• Preferred majors: Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Architecture or similar degree
  
  

Additional Details

The Designer Internship is an hourly (non-exempt), full-time opportunity that runs from June 1st, 2026 - July 31st, 2026. Applications will close on December 31, 2025 . This is an onsite Monday - Friday internship in our Kansas City location. You must be at least 18 years of age, and currently enrolled as a college junior or senior or actively enrolled in a related postgraduate program. Please submit a portfolio with your application.
