ECS Limited is seeking a Natural Resources Department Manager to join our Environmental team in South Carolina. As an Environmental Department Manager with ECS, you will oversee operations, manage scientists and project managers, ensure timely project deliverables, prepare proposals, and drive business growth. 

Basic Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and grow the department with a strong focus on business development and marketing initiatives 
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5-10 environmental scientists and project managers, overseeing environmental services projects, reviewing reports, preparing proposals, and managing departmental P&L 
  • Supervise employees and manage daily departmental operations, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines 
  • Coordinate effectively with regulatory authorities, particularly in navigating complex 404/401 permitting in the Southeast US 
  • Contribute to business growth by maintaining and developing client relationships, marketing services, and preparing proposals for environmental projects 
  • Manage project and budget oversight, including coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders 
  • May involve report preparation duties based on departmental needs 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • BS in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Engineering or related discipline 
  • 10+ years of experience in Environmental Consulting 
  • Licensure - one or more of the following: Professional Wetland Scientist, Licensed Soil Scientist (LSS), Professional Soil Classifier (PSC), Professional Engineer (PE) 
  • Extensive experience in wetland and stream delineation 
  • Expertise in navigating complex 404/401 (Nationwide and Individual) permitting in the Southeast US, coastal South Carolina preferred  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • NEPA compliance experience, endangered species assessment and surveys 
  • SCDOT project experience 
  • Coastal zone permitting 
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk/CAD, ArcGIS, MicroStation 
  • Experience in stream restoration, including watershed hydrology, fluvial geomorphology, stream hydraulics, sediment transport
