Data Scientist

Responsibilities:

• Analyze large, complex datasets from sensors, drilling logs, seismic studies, and production systems
• Develop predictive models for equipment reliability, production forecasting, and reservoir performance
• Apply machine learning and statistical methods to optimize drilling and completions operations
• Collaborate with engineers, geoscientists, and business teams to translate data insights into actionable strategies
• Build dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs, detect anomalies, and support decision-making
• Ensure data quality, governance, and integrity across multiple sources
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Petroleum Engineering, or related field
• Strong programming skills in Python or R; SQL expertise for data manipulation
• Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, and data visualization
• Familiarity with time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and optimization methods
• Strong communication skills to bridge technical insights with engineering and operations teams
  
  
  

Nice-to-Have (Preferred):

• Knowledge of petroleum engineering concepts (reservoir modeling, drilling optimization, production systems)
• Experience with industry data platforms (e.g., OSIsoft PI System, Petrel, Schlumberger DELFI, Halliburton Landmark)
• Cloud platforms and big data tools (AWS, Azure, Databricks, Spark)
