The Opportunity

The potential impact of data, artificial intelligence, and automation is currently the subject of enormous discussion within the legal industry. Seyfarth Labs is the home of our technology innovation team, where we explore and test these emerging technologies to transform how our teams work and how our clients experience the delivery of legal services. As a Data Insights Analyst, you will analyze complex data sets, design innovative analytics solutions, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across the firm and for our clients.

While this position is mostly remote, you will be required to attend in person meetings on an as needed basis.

The Day-To-Day

Responsibilities

On any given day, as a Data Insights Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting data to deliver meaningful business insights. You will:

• Partner with clients, Seyfarth Shaw attorneys, and other team members to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of specific legal engagements through data-driven solutions
• Utilize programming and database queries to extract and validate relevant data from a variety of source types (databases, flat files, and external sources as needed)
• Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and data visualizations that effectively support decisions and drive actions across the organization
• Produce accessible commentary on complex analytics for non-technical audiences with focus on simplicity, clarity, and business impact
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, juggling priorities, deadlines and essential duties for each project
  
  

You Have

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or other analytical discipline
• 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, business analytics, or data science role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI
• Knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write stored procedures, triggers, analytic/windowing functions, and tuning
• Knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: R, Python, Java
• Ability to work both independently and in diverse teams with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to distill complex concepts into simple messages across multiple teams and leadership

Location Specific Language

Chicago, IL: The full time salary range for this role is $89,000 to $95,000 annually, which is based on a 40 hour work week.

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role in the locations listed above at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
