The Opportunity
As a Real Property Data Collector in the Providence, Rhode Island vicinity, you will be responsible for gathering accurate and comprehensive data related to real property within designated geographic areas. Your role will be critical in supporting property assessments by collecting information on property characteristics, ownership details, and relevant market data. You will work closely with property owners, conduct field inspections, and utilize various data collection tools to ensure the integrity and reliability of property data.

The Opportunity
As a Real Property Data Collector in the Providence, Rhode Island vicinity, you will be responsible for gathering accurate and comprehensive data related to real property within designated geographic areas. Your role will be critical in supporting property assessments by collecting information on property characteristics, ownership details, and relevant market data. You will work closely with property owners, conduct field inspections, and utilize various data collection tools to ensure the integrity and reliability of property data.
What You Will Do
- Field Data Collection:
- Conduct field inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to gather data on property characteristics, such as size, construction type, condition, and amenities.
- Verify property boundaries, land use designations, and other relevant information through on-site observations and documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection
- List or update information on the property record card as needed
- Property Documentation:
- Record accurate and detailed descriptions of properties, including structural features, improvements, and any significant changes or discrepancies.
- Collect information on property ownership, including names, addresses, and legal descriptions, through public records and direct inquiries.
- Data Entry and Management:
- Assist with entering collected data into the assessment database or software system promptly and accurately, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards.
- Maintain organized records of property data, including updates, corrections, and historical information, for reference and analysis.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with property owners, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary information and address inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to resolve data discrepancies, coordinate field assignments, and support assessment activities.
- Identify discrepancies between the comparative data and collaborate with team members to resolve them
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks on collected data to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information.
- Compare property data from our database for accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in reviewing assessment data and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in training sessions, IAAO courses and workshops to enhance knowledge of property assessment practices, data collection techniques, and relevant software tools.
- Stay informed about changes in property laws, regulations, and assessment procedures to ensure compliance and proficiency in job duties.
