Job Summary

Ursa Space Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data & Analytics Catalog Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for cataloging, defining, and documenting our diverse range of satellite-based analytics capabilities and products. You will serve as a bridge between our technical teams and our internal and external customers, translating complex geospatial concepts into clear, understandable information. This position requires a unique blend of technical understanding, organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

The ideal candidate would have a passion for geospatial technology and a talent for organizing and presenting technical information, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge satellite-based intelligence solutions.

This position will sit within the Rapid Development & Testing Team and work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalog of Ursa Space's Platform Analytic capabilities, products, and offerings. This includes indicators, observations, and insights for geospatial intelligence monitoring
  • Create and manage detailed documentation for products, data sets, processes, and methodologies, including specifications, features, use cases, capabilities, and limitations
  • Implement and manage metadata standards, taxonomies, and data curation processes to ensure consistency, quality, and relevance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including members from the Solutions, Operations, or Product & Marketing teams as well as Engineering) to understand and articulate Ursa Space's full range of capabilities and potential product developments
  • Support sales, marketing, and client-facing teams by providing clear, accurate information about analytic capabilities and data products, and develop standardized templates and processes for capturing and presenting product information. This may include assisting in proposal and customer quote writing
  • Support data discovery and retrieval processes for internal teams and external clients
  • Stay informed about internal projects and operational needs to inform developers and help maintain the relevance and usefulness of the analytic catalog
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Technology Education, Geoinformation, Information Management, or related field; and/or 2-4 years of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language
  • Past experience that included some elements of product management, technical writing, or geospatial data analysis and processing
  • Familiarity with satellite imagery, remote sensing technologies, and geospatial analysis concepts
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with remote sensing principles and satellite imagery analysis, particularly synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, geographic information systems (GIS), and/or spatial statistics/analysis
  • Past experience generating educational content and delivering training
  • Knowledge of geospatial data formats and standards (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoTIFF)
  • Experience in creating user guides and technical documentation
  • Experience in cross-functional team collaboration

Location

  • We are headquartered in Ithaca, NY and have a remote workforce in other locations

Compensation

  • $70,000 to $110,000, based on experience and qualifications
