Position Summary

The Data Analyst will work closely with the Chief Credit Officer and other key stakeholders to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights. The role is critical in supporting data-driven decision-making and ensuring the bank continues to meet its strategic objectives.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Management
  • Collect, clean, and organize large datasets from various banking systems and external sources.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and security in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyze credit, risk, and financial performance data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement.
  • Develop detailed reports and dashboards to communicate insights to the Chief Credit Officer and executive leadership.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and provide recommendations for improving credit quality and operational efficiency.
  • Risk Assessment
  • Evaluate credit risk using predictive analytics and statistical models.
  • Support the development and refinement of credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the bank’s strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Provide data-driven insights to enhance customer acquisition, retention, and financial product offerings.
  • Compliance and Auditing
  • Ensure all analyses and reports adhere to applicable banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required data and documentation.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics and technology to improve data analysis processes.
  • Propose and implement solutions for enhancing operational and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Hands-on experience with credit risk analysis, financial modeling, and business intelligence tools.

Skills And Competencies

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar languages.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk, lending practices, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in the banking sector (e.g. guidelines).
