Customer Service

Job Summary

Responsible for answering the phone, routing calls if needed and greeting and welcoming visitors. Also responsible for validating that the requisitions and supplemental paperwork is scanned, and that billing information is present. Responsible for other work duties as assigned and reports to Transcription Supervisor.

Essential Functions

• Answer phones and resolve issue billing questions or transfer to appropriate personnel
• Answer door
• Ensure that requisitions are scanned and include billing information.
• Sort mail received from post office and postman and deliver to appropriate personnel
• Assist with filing pathology slides
• Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the practice.

Experience

Requires previous experience demonstrating excellent typing and computer skills and demonstrated ability to deal professionally with staff, physicians and the general public.

Education/Training

High school graduate or equivalent.

Licensure, Registration And/or Certification

None

Institutional Training Required

HIPAA, Compliance, Safety and Departmental training.

Special Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

• Ability to get along with other employees, clients, physicians and patients while handling patient billing issues.
• Ability to maintain positive and effective communication with other departments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and disclosure of any information to unauthorized persons is cause for immediate dismissal.
• Excellent data entry and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and other software required for successful job performance.
