Scope of Work:

The Custodial Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily custodial operations at the U.S. Army Garrison Miami project site, ensuring all facilities are maintained to contract standards of cleanliness and safety. This position provides hands-on leadership, training, and administrative oversight to custodial staff while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and customer requirements within a secure federal installation requiring a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily custodial operations to ensure all areas meet contractual standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance.
  • Assign, schedule, and inspect work to maintain quality and efficiency across all shifts.
  • Provide hands-on support, coaching, and training to custodial staff in proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, and timekeeping; complete evaluations and recommend disciplinary or corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage custodial supply inventory, order materials, and ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning agents and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and communication with site management and customer representatives.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and federal security requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of custodial experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience managing custodial operations in a government, military, or large commercial environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of custodial methods, cleaning materials, disinfectants, and floor care procedures.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, HAZMAT storage, and equipment maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate performance, and develop process improvements.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access clearance in accordance with USAG Miami facility security requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance; must be able to obtain an interim clearance prior to start.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Repetitive use of hands and arms for cleaning tasks and operation of custodial equipment.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity required for detail cleaning and safe equipment use.
  • Work performed primarily indoors in offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas, with occasional outdoor cleaning assignments.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and waste materials; personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and required.
  • May work in occupied or unoccupied facilities; must maintain professional conduct around military personnel and civilian staff.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
