Description

Are you looking to join a team of go-getters dedicated to serving and uplifting the community? Join the Motor City Cruise team and our mission!

We are looking for Court Assistants that will support our Basketball Operations department throughout the 2025-26 Motor City Cruise season. You will be responsible for all aspects of supporting the Motor City Cruise players and visiting teams with pre-game, in-game and post-game support, during their home games at Wayne State Fieldhouse.

Here at the Motor City Cruise, we are focused on equality for all. We work collaboratively to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that celebrates our differences while driving innovation and equity. Creating impactful experiences on and off the court is what we do - and ensuring that everyone has a voice is how we do it.

We are looking for a team member with a positive, upbeat attitude that can lead and connect with a diverse population!

Pre-Game Prep

  • Set the stage for tip-off by preparing the court and team benches.
  • Stock towels, warmups, watercooler towers, and other team essentials.
  • Rebound for both the Cruise and visiting teams during warmups.

In-Game Action

  • Keep players fueled with water and Gatorade throughout the game.
  • Be part of the court crew—quickly mop spills/sweat to keep the floor safe.
  • Fold and organize warmups so players can focus on the game.

Post-Game Wrap-Up

  • Break down and clean up the court after the final buzzer.
  • Gather used towels, clean benches, and remove watercooler towers.
  • Assist with team equipment and bags as they head to the buses.

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma
  • 18+ years old
  • Reliable transportation to/from Wayne State Fieldhouse
  • Available 2 hours before tip-off and up to 1 hour after the game ends
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for long shifts
  • Committed to working all Motor City Cruise home games
  • Current Wayne State Student (preferred)

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
