Cosmetics & Skincare Innovations Leader

Market America, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Cosmetics Skincare Innovations Leader for Product Quality Control team.

Position Summary

This position Provides knowledgeable and detail-oriented Cosmetic and Skincare knowledge to lead the formulation development of skincare and cosmetic products through strategic collaboration with contract manufacturers and third-party laboratories. Rather than performing hands-on lab work, this position focuses on guiding and overseeing the formulation process—from concept through to final sample approval—by working closely with external vendors and internal stakeholders to bring innovative, high-performing products to market.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and formulation labs to develop skincare and cosmetic products in alignment with brand goals, consumer needs, and regulatory guidelines.
• Translate product concepts and marketing briefs into clear technical formulations requirements.
• Review and evaluate submitted bench samples, provide feedback, and iterate formulations in partnership with vendors to achieve desired product performance, texture, scent, and stability.
• Source and assess ingredients, actives, and raw materials in collaboration to meet efficacy, safety, sustainability, and clean beauty standards.
• Guide and monitor third-party testing including stability, compatibility, SPF, dermatological testing, and safety assessments.
• Ensure products meet global regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, TFDA, EU, Health Canada) and align with internal clean/ethical formulation guidelines.
• Maintain organized documentation of formulation revisions, ingredient lists, INCI data, COAs, and technical specifications.
• Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Design, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless transition from formulation to production and launch.
• Keep abreast of cosmetic industry trends, ingredient innovations, and consumer preferences to inform product development strategy.
  
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelors degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cosmetic or skincare formulation, ideally with a background in vendor or contract manufacturing collaboration.
• Deep understanding of skincare and cosmetic ingredients, formulation technologies, and product categories.
• Familiarity with international cosmetic regulations and quality standards.
• Or combination of equivalent experience, education, and training.
