The Continuous Improvement team collaborates with lines of business groups across the UMB footprint to analyze performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and make incremental changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and overall value for the organization. Through analyzing and fine-tuning processes, UMB can save time and deliver an overall better product.
As the Continuous Improvement (CI) Consultant, you will be responsible for leading the development of internal bank process and performance improvement efforts. You will serve as the driver of change across all levels of the UMB enterprise communicating a compelling vision for change, influencing leaders, and defining relevant process and organizational change strategies. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by CI leadership.
This role is fully remote for qualified candidates in the US.

$99,750.00 - $214,370.00

How You’ll Spend Your Time
- Partner with line of business leaders to charter new process efficiency opportunities and define proposals for new improvement projects.
- Work with product/process owners and end users to implement best practices in the areas of process and performance management.
- Drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the lines of business with which they work.
- Lead teams in the delivery of end-to-end, complex, large-scale, cross-functional process improvement programs.
- Identify optimization solutions to business problems, including process and technology-based solutions, and enabling measurable, sustainable change.
- Develop strategic partnerships with internal and external business partners to understand their in-depth business requirements, operational capabilities, products/services, customer experience and ongoing business performance.
- Leverage Lean, Six Sigma methodologies, Business Transformation tools (RPA, OCR, Workflow etc.) to identify opportunities and solutions.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology or Engineering and at least 5 years of financial services operational experience OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- You have at least 8 years of hands-on process improvement experience.
- You demonstrate strong leadership abilities, exceptional customer service skills, good analytical, and strong interpersonal skills.
- You have a willingness to lead, provide direction, listen, and execute senior level process analysis and improvement activities.
- You possess strong work ethic with a self-motivated achieving mindset.
- You have experience with RPA, VBA, Workflow, and/or OCR tools.
- You have Lean Certification and/or Six Sigma Black Belt.
- You have knowledge of Agile project delivery methodology.
