Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will blend Real-world manufacturing LEAN/6Sigma skills with the Digitalized Virtual world through Automation and Simulation modeling. The person in this role has developed, or will develop, professionally to become a certified subject matter expert and effective practitioner of Continuous Improvement, LEAN and Six Sigma. The person in this role has developed, or will develop, skills to oversee and advance the site’s capabilities in Autonomous Material-Handling Robots (AMRs), including CAD layouts, Mission/Route creation, and 3D Simulation Modeling and Analysis. Success this role requires being people-influence as a change agent for the LEAN Operating System, while also being digital-savvy to deliver simulation and automation. A science/technology engineering degree, computer literacy and experience with AMRs are all a must.
The work model for the role is: Onsite
This role is contributing to the Motion NEMA Motors division in {insert region}. Main stakeholders are {insert main stakeholder groups if available}.

You will be mainly accountable for:
- Identify, lead, track and deliver productivity improvements and reduction in cost. Apply automation or simulation modeling to accelerate the rate of improvement.
- CAD Layout Modeling and AMR Map Creation. Utilize software to control AMRs and APIs (Application Program Interfaces) to integrate with other software type for their effectivity in a production operating environment.
- Conduct Workflow Analyses in both real and virtual methods, to define and standardize optimal processes. This includes Time & Motion Studies, Work Combination Analysis, Material Flow Assessments, Updates to Routings & Layouts, Standard Work Publications and Digital Simulation.
- Support Production Leadership as a Champion for an efficient Operating System: LEAN Daily Management, Tier Meetings, Dashboards, Visibly Track & Improve KPIs, Acquire & Analyze Data, Drive Action Plans, Visual Management & Controls, Process Simplification, Leader Standard Work, Gemba Walks, 5S Audits, Andon Insights, Workforce Strategy, Manpower Models/targets, and other daily charges.

Qualifications for the role
- HS Diploma or GED Required.
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM Curriculum Required, with preference given for engineering or engineering technologies.
- 2+ Years in a manufacturing work environment, whether production, quality, testing, training or similar. The emphasis here is prior participation in Kaizen Improvement Projects that eliminated waste and improved material flow.
- 2+ Years Hand-On Experience in some combination of Mechatronics, Automation, CAD Modeling, AMRs and/or Virtual/Digital Simulation.
- Concepts of LEAN Manufacturing. Prefer accredited coursework and/or certification by reputable source.
- Concepts of Formal Problem Solving and a high level of Math proficiency (such as Statistics and Probability). Preference given to certification in 6σ Methods as White, Yellow, Green and/or Black Belt.
- High level of technical expertise required. Ability to interpret prints and create 3D CAD Models.
- Strong computer skills, MS Office Suite, Visio. Ability to create training materials, reports, and presentations. CAD & SAP experience a plus. Prefer experience in Simulation Modeling.
- Project Management skills required. Certification a plus.
- Fluent English required.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Physical and Mental requirements exist, including: sit, stand, move about the site, and lift up to 50 lbs. Requires visual acuity and ability to audio-logically detect working environment, to speak and communicate with others. There will be exposure to noise levels, moving mechanical parts, fork truck traffic. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Occasional travel and flexible work hours may be necessary.
