Job Summary:

The Associate Manager, Consumer & Shopper Insights will play a key role in supporting the development of insights that lead to action, uncovering shopper behaviors, consumer trends, and category dynamics. This position will assist the Head of Market Intelligence in analyzing a variety of primary and secondary data sources to help inform business decisions that drive growth across the business. The ideal candidate is curious, highly analytical, and collaborative, with a passion for turning multiple data points into meaningful consumer and shopper insights that drive business decisions.

  • This is a remote position within the United States. However, candidates located in the Los Angeles area will be required to work in a hybrid capacity from our Irwindale, CA office.
  • Travel is required up to 15%

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage data from multiple sources (e.g., syndicated sales data, shipment data, and digital analytics) to uncover actionable insights that drive strategic marketing, sales and innovation decisions.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shopper engagement, consumer behavior, category performance, and brand health.
  • Support the development and delivery of clear, data-driven insights to internal stakeholders, helping translate research findings into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Support innovation initiatives by helping assess new product concepts and products, packaging, and branding through efficient research methodologies.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including sales, category management, and product development to align research learning plans with business objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends and the competitive landscape to help identify emerging consumer and shopper opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with external research agencies to ensure high-quality execution of research projects and data deliverables.
  • Champion consumer-centricity in all market research initiatives to drive deeper engagement with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Market Research, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in consumer & shopper insights, and market research within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using syndicated data market research platforms (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, SPINS, Kantar).
  • Experience with DIY quantitative and qualitative platforms (e.g., Suzy, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey)
  • Proven ability to translate and synthesize complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Experience working with both primary and secondary research methodologies, including survey design and development.
  • Experience working with and managing external research partner relationships.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in digital and e-commerce analytics.
  • Knowledge of behavioral economics and shopper psychology.
  • Familiarity with customer segmentation and predictive analytics.
  • Familiarity with Menu tracking software tools (e.g., Technomic, Dataessentials)
