Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

  • The Community Leadership Coordinator works closely with CB&E Staff to collectively serve residents, nearby neighbors, volunteers and community partners.
  • Primary responsibility for coordination of an effective Community and Resident Leadership Program.
  • Facilitate regular community meetings and programs to foster relationship building, collaboration, and promote equitable services for residents in the neighborhoods served by Dwelling Place.
  • Community Leadership experiences
  • Coordination of community input into Dwelling Place property renovations/developments
  • Meaningful opportunities to recognize and celebrate resident leaders
  • Cultivate relationships across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for Community Leadership Programing that is responsive to community culture and individual identities.
  • Establish, increase and strengthen partnerships
  • Ongoing recruitment and engagement of participants in Community Leadership Programs
  • Ongoing support and guidance to select residents and community leaders
  • Work alongside partners and resident leaders to co-design and implement accessible programs that utilize equitable and best practices to authentically support emerging community leaders
  • Design and implement continual internal and external communication/marketing strategies efforts about programming and opportunities
  • Collecting and sharing Dwelling Place Community Leadership stories with the public
  • Create program marketing materials that adhere to the Dwelling Place brand standards
  • Serve as an advocate to ensure that the needs of community leaders are a priority and that there are opportunities for support them as they grow their impact in the broader community
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with partners and funders to communicate agreement requirements, resolve inquiries and report progress
  • Participate in the continuous quality improvement and data-driven decision-making processes to assess the efficacy of programming and to drive programmatic refinements. Ensure adherence to data collection, reporting and evaluation requirements
  • Solicitation of program sponsorship & grant funding when needed

Requirements

Due to the nature of the programing this position will include evening and weekend hours, this is a requirement of the position.

  • Education and/or Experience Pervious experience in managing community programing, marketing, and/or communications activities.
  • Language Skills Excellent oral and writing skills. Ability to prepare and edit accurate and compelling written materials for internal use and for public presentation. Ability to speak effectively before groups of funders, donors, residents, staff, board members and other community groups. Examples of written materials will be requested.
  • Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Professional Licenses, Certificates, Registrations Valid Michigan Driver’s License and vehicle.
  • Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
