Additionally, the lifespan compensation range of this position is: $21/hour -$24.19/hour.

The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) will develop, expand, and support the Community Engagement Advisory Council (CEAC) and/or Youth Action Council (YAC) by recruiting volunteers, accessing community needs, facilitating meetings, maintaining an attendance roster, maintaining meeting minutes, planning community events, scheduling trainings, resolving conflict and developing volunteer appreciation opportunities. The CEC is responsible for engaging and supervising volunteers and interns who will participate in Family Resource Center (FRC) projects such as life skills workshops, outreach events, community assessments, fundraising activities, community presentations, and trainings that advance a community agenda to affect community-level change.
Job Responsibilities
Safety: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and talk or hear. Fine motor skills such as typing, the use of a computer mouse and telephone handset is required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Responsibilities
- Recruit, screen, and orient volunteers and interns to the FRC and community.
- Responsible for assisting in advocacy for the expansion of the FRC CEAC and/or YAC programs and activities focusing on issues that affect the health, well-being, and public safety of residents in the FRC community.
- Oversee community organizing, volunteer recruitment and training, problem-solving, developing and implementing an outreach plan.
- Support the efforts of local programs to explore donation and service opportunities for the FRC.
- Develop and promote FRC volunteer project activities, develop and maintain regular contact with community organizations.
- Coordinate and communicate with the FRC Coordinator.
- Attend all required meetings and trainings, including but not limited to all bi-monthly CEC meetings
- Has overall responsibility for contractually required documentation.
- Identifies potential community needs and strengths and develops possible volunteer opportunities and projects, obtaining appropriate approvals when necessary.
- Provides direct supervision to Bachelor's level and other assigned volunteers, including recruitment, selection, training, and performance evaluation.
- Has overall responsibility for contractually required documentation and data entry.
- Maintains positive external contacts related to the program, including reporting to funding sources, community resources, collaborative partners, etc.
- Keeps immediate supervisor and senior management informed regarding the progress of the program.
- Implement a volunteer recognition program.
- Maintains confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients.
- Maintains positive communications with all agency volunteers, interns, staff, clients, visitors, and supervisor.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Maintain files, logs, and other records in audit condition as required by the agency or funder.
- Support agency initiatives related to Trauma Informed, Resilience-Oriented Care (TIROC) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
- Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
- Supports existing agency policies, principles, and mission.
- Weekly schedule includes evenings and some weekends.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
- Other related duties as assigned.
- An Associate's degree or sixty (60) college units in human services or related field from an accredited college/university; one (1) year of experience, including leadership/supervisory experience, providing direct services to the target population; capable of relating well to individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, varied income, and education levels; and computer competency or
- Three (3) years of experience, including one (1) year of leadership/supervisory experience, providing direct services to the target population; capable of relating well to individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, varied income, and education levels; and computer competency.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Knowledge of public and private social services agencies and community resources, including Federal and State programs.
