This is a global remote role.

As a Mortgage Closing Specialist at GoRascal, you are the final checkpoint in a borrower’s home financing journey. Your job is to ensure every closing happens on time, with precision, urgency, and clear communication to all involved parties.

You’ll work closely with loan officers, processors, borrowers, attorneys, and settlement agents to coordinate closing dates, review documents, and ensure all requirements are met for a timely and accurate closing. You’re someone who naturally anticipates needs, follows up relentlessly, and communicates proactively to prevent surprises.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively schedule closings with settlement agents and attorneys as soon as files are ready. Confirm logistics with borrowers and loan officers and keep all parties informed.
  • Review closing packages for accuracy and completeness. Confirm all documents are properly signed, issued, and uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Closely monitor the closing pipeline and follow up on outstanding items to keep files on track. Update internal systems with status updates and timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with settlement agents, attorneys, loan officers, and processors to ensure coordination, troubleshoot delays, and avoid last-minute issues.
  • Provide clear and timely updates to borrowers and support them through the final stretch of the process. Handle concerns with empathy and urgency.
  • Escalate and resolve issues that could impact closing timelines. Think ahead and troubleshoot proactively to get deals across the finish line.

Qualifications

  • Experience in mortgage closing, funding, or similar operations roles (experience in the broker channel is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of closing disclosures, closing packages, and required documents for various loan types (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA)
  • Familiarity with title/settlement procedures, closing timelines, and working with third-party closing partners
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented; you thrive when managing multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; you’re clear, professional, and friendly—even when under pressure
  • Proactive, responsive, and laser-focused on meeting closing dates—no one needs to chase you for updates
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks, escalate effectively, and find resolutions to get deals done
  • Comfortable using CRM and document management platforms
