PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Â Appointees must satisfactorily complete a six-month probationary period before the appointment will be considered regular.
- Starting Salary: $39,832.00
- After Six Months of Successful Employment: $40,456.00
- After One Year of Successful Employment: $41,100.80
- Maximum salary is achieved after three successful years of employment.
Duties
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, performs a variety of routine clerical tasks, including maintenance of file systems, logs, and records; and typing and compiling information to assist in the efficient accomplishment of support activities. Â Duties may include:
- Maintains basic manual and automated file systems or assists in the maintenance of a large, moderately complex system
- Codes, classifies, posts, and compiles information for use by others
- Receives, verifies, and registers documents
- Reviews forms, documents, and other materials for accuracy and compliance
- Provides assistance to staff and the public as required
- Responds to inquiries and searches files for requested information
- Performs simple computations and verifies figures
- Maintains logs and records of equipment, inventory costs, services performed, documents received, and charges to be assessed
- Operates office equipment such as computers, copiers, telephones, shredders, and postage meters
- Types forms, vouchers, requisitions, invoices, notices, schedules, and other materials
- Types rough drafts or combines data from multiple sources
- Performs other clerical duties such as photocopying, ordering and issuing supplies, and sending, receiving, and distributing mail
By the closing date of this announcement, an applicant must:
- Be a citizen of the United States or a resident alien with the right to work in the United States; and
- Have a high school diploma or a valid equivalency certificate; and
- Have a minimum of one year of full-time, or two years of current consecutive part-time paid general office clerical work experience. Â Â Â

Knowledge of
- Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
- Some knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Ability to read comprehensively in order to obtain pertinent information
- Ability to make simple arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures in doing routine work
- Ability to deal with the public and fellow employees in a courteous and tactful manner
