The Child Life Specialist position is responsible for mentoring staf in the provision of comprehensive, pirposeful, developmentally appropriate, and cul;turally sensitive, family centered care. This care is focused on meeting the psychhosocial and developmental needs of children and families. Providing evaluation and therapeutic services, direct patient care and patient/family education in an efficient manner. We have an opportunity for a Part time Child Life Specialist in our Spokane facility.
Schedule Part-time (FTE 0.3)
(Pay range for this position is $24.50/hr - $36.76/hr. The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education).

- Performs individual assessments to collect comprehensive and accurate date necessary to assess development, temperament, coping style, medical plan, cultural preferences & practices and available social supports in order to develop an individualized treatment plan
- Ensures that intervention is compliant with department policy and the professional standards of practice
- Plans and implements an individualized treatment plan that identifies goals and evidence-based treatment intervention strategies, with an emphasis on psychosocial and emotional needs of the patients and their families
- Utilizes electronic medical record applications to document relevant patient and family information
- Ensures adapted equipment and recreation equipment is safe and functioning properly
- Performs self-reflection of personal practice and professional work activities to direct individual; and staff goals for professional growth and development
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field, required
- 1 Year Child Life, preferred
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), required
